The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) encompasses the three (3) Counties of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby serving approximately 6100 students in twenty-two (22) schools, composed of 13 Elementary Schools, 6 High Schools, 1 Middle School, and 2 Elementary/High Schools.

Position: Consultant, Mathematics Implementation and Assessment
Reports to: Coordinator of Assessment and Mathematics
Location: Various Schools; Harbour House (Central Office), Yarmouth NS
The primary job of the Mathematics Implementation and Assessment Consultant is to work with the Coordinator of Assessment and Mathematics to support successful delivery of the provincial mathematics curriculum, and implementation of provincial and regional mathematics initiatives and to support assessment strategies in all subject areas, at all grade levels.
Qualifications
- A Valid NS Teacher’s License;
- A minimum of five (5) years successful teaching experience;
- A Master’s degree in Education (Mathematics concentration); or
be actively enrolled in a master's program, and have completed at least two courses towards that degree; or
- In the Region's judgment, have formal qualifications, including a minimum of an undergraduate degree in education and specific training/experience directly related to the vacant position;
- Strong background in effective mathematics instruction and assessment.

- Completion or enrollment in the NS Instructional Leadership Academy (NSELC) is considered an asset.

Accountabilities
- Support teachers in developing/improving Mathematics curriculum instruction and assessment practices;
- Supporting teachers in developing and implementing equitable assessment practices, in all subject areas, at all grade levels;
- Organize and support professional learning opportunities for mathematics teachers, support teachers, and school administrators;
- Organize and support professional learning opportunities for classroom teachers, support teachers, and school administrators while implementing the Grading Principles Progression Chart;
- Support schools with developing and attaining their mathematics goals for school improvement planning;
- Provide professional development and support coaching and intervention at schools;
- Provide support to new teachers with PowerTeacher Pro and developing their assessment practices and plan;
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to provide response support in schools;
- Communicate the progress of mathematics improvement and areas requiring support to regional leadership and schools;
- Develop learning resources and sessions to assist school administrators in implementing equitable assessment practices;
- Represent the TCRCE on the provincial Mathematics Lead Team;
- Other responsibilities deemed priorities for increasing mathematics success and supporting assessment practices in all subject areas in the TCRCE;
- Any other job related duties.
