Substitute Teaching Opportunities

The Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education (CCRCE) is comprised of approximately 2,700 staff, all striving to provide a well-rounded education for almost 20,000 students in grades Primary to 12. Our region is made up of 67 schools in central and northern Nova Scotia, stretching from the New Brunswick border to the Antigonish County line and from the Northumberland Strait to the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Please note that active substitute teachers within CCRCE do not need to reapply for these opportunities.

All applicants must have the following requirements:

• A valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia;
• Methodology courses, experience, or practicum teaching in the subject area(s) at the appropriate level for the substitute opportunity;
• Excellent classroom and student management skills;
• Knowledge and experience in the application of technologies used to enhance instruction and learning;
• Knowledge and/or experience in implementing inclusive teaching and assessment strategies

Interested applicants must attach a résumé with a concise covering letter highlighting relevant qualifications and experience as well as the names of at least three (3) relevant professional references. All applicants will be required to submit a Child abuse registry and Criminal Record Check-Vulnerable sector prior to employment with CCRCE.  Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
