Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education is seeking a Network, Security and Infrastructure Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology and working as an effective member of the Information Technology team, the Network, Security and Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, verifying administering, and maintaining the security and stability of the network systems and their associated software/hardware components for all schools and buildings within CCRCE. The Network, Security and Infrastructure Specialist will play a key role in the implementation and management of cyber security systems, processes, assessments and procedures to ensure CCRCE's network and data is kept secure and safe from cyber threats.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Network and Security Administration
- Design, implement, and optimize firewall rules; troubleshoot network connectivity; perform firmware updates; and ensure robust security across all sites.
- Privileged Access and Identity Management
- Administer the organization’s Privileged Access Management (PAM) solution, including auto-rotation of secrets, asset discovery, and conversion of service accounts.
- Enterprise Directory Services and User Management
- Oversee Microsoft Active Directory (on-premises and Azure AD) and optimize user/device management.
- Technical Support and Documentation
- Serve as the primary Tier 3 support contact, facilitate escalations, conduct root cause analysis, and create/upgrade documentation for IT staff.
- Infrastructure Maintenance and Optimization
- Install, configure, and update switches, access points, and core data center hardware; maintain internet/intranet connectivity; and manage wireless network solutions.
- Cybersecurity and Data Protection
- Implement and manage endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, configure Windows Defender Application Control, and ensure backup integrity and disaster recovery readiness. Address gaps identified in penetration tests and upgrade disaster recovery infrastructure.
- Enterprise Application and System Migration
- Administer MS 365 Exchange (including security enhancements and decommissioning legacy servers), support migration from on-premise storage to OneDrive, and maintain conditional access policies in Microsoft Entra.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary education in information systems, or acceptable equivalent education and experience,
- Minimum five (5) years progressive experience in information and communication technology in a large organization;
- Preference for Professional certification in a relevant IT field (i.e. Comp TIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365 Certifications);
- Technical Proficiency:
- Skilled in virtualized data center environments (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Proficient with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panarama Management.
- Experience with Aruba switching and Aruba Cloud based management software.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Servers, and network monitoring/auditing tool

Additional Assets
- Knowledge and/or experience with Aruba Clearpass
- Experience in an education IT environment
- Experience utilizing Veeam backup.

Start Date: December 15, 2025
Salary: Non Union Pay Band 7 ($2,570.94 to $3,213.69 Bi-weekly, based on 35 hours/week)
