Regular Full Time Non-Union Position
The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education, with approximately 19,000 students and 2,700 employees, is seeking an HR Manager. Reporting to the Coordinator of Human Resources and working as an effective member of the Human Resources team, the HR Manager is the primary point of contact for an assigned group of School Administrators and Supervisory Staff for the delivery of a broad range of human resource services such as staffing, collective agreement interpretation, support of return to work/accommodation, performance management, investigations and discipline.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree with a focus on Human Resources Management or Labour Relations or an undergraduate degree and a recognized comprehensive Human Resources / Labour Relations program. In exceptional circumstances, equivalent training and experience may be considered.
- CHRP designation would be an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of Human Resource Management within unionized workplace(s).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in advising and supporting management staff in a variety of employment matters including recruitment; selection; collective agreement interpretations; discipline; performance management; conflict resolution and accommodations.
- Significant focus on conducting complex investigations on a variety of employment related matters (such as disciplinary, harassment, health matters, and performance).
- HR Management experience within the public sector, generally, and education, specifically, would be an asset.
Ability:
- Establish and sustain positive effective professional relationships with the assigned Supervisors and Principals as day to day responsibilities are providing leadership and support to such groups in order to meet the HR needs of the Regional Centre.
- In some situations lead and in other situations effectively advise on a variety of HR matters such as: recruitment; selection; labour relations; collective agreement interpretations; discipline & discharge; performance management; conflict resolution; investigations; attendance; accommodations; OHS work refusals; conflict of interest; harassment complaints; and race relations, cross cultural understanding and human rights employment matters.
- Effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a demanding, fast paced environment.
- Effectively working independently as well as an ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and teams.
- Exceptional client relations.
- Strong communication skills deployed in a variety of ways and environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills including relational approach and mediation.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality.

SALARY: Non Union Pay Band 9 ($3,105.22 - $3,881.54 Bi-weekly)
