Introduction The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing a bi-weekly payroll for a large group of Chignecto Central Regional Centre for Education employees, using multiple computer programs including Excel, SAP, Easy Connect and Integrated Services. This will include compiling timekeeping information of employees, ensuring accurate calculations of pay and deductions according to the hours worked, producing multiple reports and records of employment. This position is also responsible for responding appropriately to employee inquiries regarding payroll and investigate and resolve any errors in payroll in a timely manner. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Minimum Requirements Completion of Grade 12. Recognized Business Diploma/Degree from Community College or University. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications (Microsoft Excel) including functions and formulas, an exercise will be provided at time of interview. Proficiency in word processing (Microsoft Word), an exercise will be provided at time of interview. Payroll experience. Familiarity with unionized payroll. Prior experience working with private and confidential information. Proven success in fast paced, high volume detail-oriented work environment. |

Additional Assets 2 Years´ experience in payroll procedures including proven proficiency in the operation of a computerized payroll/HR system. PCP Designation through the Canadian Payroll Association, or equivalent obtained through training and experience. SAP Payroll Experience. Ability to think and work independently while prioritizing workload in a deadline driven environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to combine speed and accuracy while working under pressure to meet deadlines. |
