Introduction Reporting to the Manager of Technology Infrastructure, the ITSS (Information Technology Support specialist) will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and support of technology-related systems within the schools of Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education. Minimum Requirements - Degree, diploma or certification in technology from a recognized training institition;
- CompTIA A+ Certification required;
 
Additional Assets - Preference will be given to those candidates with CompTIA Network+ Certification and Novelle CNA 6 Certification;
- Proficiency in installing, maintaining and troubleshooting of Windows XP, Windows 7 and MacIntosh OSX;
- Proficiency with MacIntosh installation and maintenance;
- Training and experience in servicing desktop computers and networks;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to interact effectively with management;
- Ability to maximize efficient delivery of service at the school level;
- Knowledge of computer systems in both industry and education;
- Understanding of technology in education;
- Knowledge and experience in the installation of a variety of peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, digital cameras, projectors, etc.;
- Capable of running and terminating Cat5e/Cat 6 cable;
- Knowledge of installing and maintaining Internet in a LAN/WLAN environment;
- Willingness to undergo further training, as required;
- Support for on-site users (Windows based and/or Macintosh computers);
- Experience with installing and training in office software;
- Must have a valid driver's license;
