The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within the boundaries of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools.

Summer Literacy Camp Teacher
Early Elementary Teacher (Primary to 2), mornings only. This positon will run from July 17, 2025 to August 15, 2025. Students attend between July 21, 2025 to August 15, 2025.
Successful candidates should be available to travel to Halifax for professional learning on July 3 & 4, 2025.
Required Qualifications:
Valid Nova Scotia Teacher Certification
Bachelor of Education - Elementary
Required Competencies:
Early Elementary teachers are expected to possess an understanding of and skills in the following:
Early literacy instruction with a focus on using assessment to guide small group instruction.
Excellent communication (written, oral, and electronic) problem solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with Summer Camp staff
An understanding of the six (6) pillars of Effective Reading Instruction.
Experience with Spell Read is beneficial.
Salary: Substitute Rate (1/2 day)
Salary is as per NSTU Provincial Collective Agreement
