The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within the boundaries of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools.

HOURS OF WORK: 3 hours daily (morning, lunch time, dismissal time)
WORK TERM: Casual on-call basis, September to June annually
LOCATION: Various schools throughout the Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre for Education.
RATE OF PAY: $18.18 per hour
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 education or an acceptable equivalent in experience
- The ability to work with children and provide assistance
- Demonstrated ability to do work as required in the posted position
- Reliable and conscientious
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
JOB DESCRIPTION: LUNCH BUS GROUNDS SUPERVISOR
ROLE: To supervise students before and after school, at lunch and on and off school buses.
- Provide supervision for students before and after school for such times as are required and indicated by the principal.
- Provide supervision for students during the lunch and/or noon hour break for such times as are required and indicated by the principal.
- Supervise the washrooms during lunch hour and see that the washrooms are checked before students go in and after they come out. Students are not to be allowed to take any food or drink into the washroom with them.
- After students go into class, tables are cleared off, wiped and floors swept by Supervisors.
- Familiarize themselves with any medical or other problems the children under their supervision may have.
- Provide supervision of students getting on or off the bus before commencement of school and after school is dismissed.
- Report to the principal or designate any problem that might occur during the time of supervision.
- Any other related duties as assigned.
