Introduction The Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education is located in beautiful Central . Northern Nova Scotia, Canada serving approximately 19,000 children from Pre-Primary through to Grade 12. Reporting to the Facilitator, Schools Plus (Chignecto Family), the CCRCE is seeking the services of a Community Outreach Worker. The successful candidate will work as a full member of the Cumberland SchoolsPlus Team, providing direct support to children, youth and families of schools in the Chignecto Family and will assist in navigating children, youth and their families to services and resources in the community. The Community Outreach Worker will work collaboratively with other school and agency staff to ensure that the student and/ or their family have timely access to services and programs required. This position is also responsible for the facilitation of after school programming and group programming throughout the school day which may require flexibility with the successful candidate's work schedule. |

Minimum Requirements - BSW degree preferred; - Completion of a post-secondary diploma or certificate such as a Child and youth Care Practitioner Diploma, Social Services Diploma, - 4 years experience, or acceptable combination of education, training and/ or experience; - Knowledge of resources supports in schools and the community; - Proven organizational and evaluation skills; - Strong oral and written communication skills; - Accurate record keeping and reporting; - High degree of professionalism; - Ability to work cooperatively within the multidisciplinary, inter-agency framework with school and community partners |

Closing Notes This SPCOW position will support River Hebert District School primarily, in addition to students/families from Spring Street Academy and Cumberland North Academy as assigned by the SchoolsPlus Facilitator. School assignments could change at the direction of the SchoolsPlus Facilitator based on operational needs. |
