Qualifications:
•    Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders or an equivalent Masters Degree.
•    Eligible for certification by the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists

•    Valid Nova Scotia Teacher Certification
•    The ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment
•    Advanced technological skills
•    The ability to conduct effective presentations.
•    Ability to work independently, while also working as a communicative member of the Student Development.
•    Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to introduce a positive influence to initiatives
 
 Task Dimensions:
•    Implements and administers policies, procedures and guidelines related to the provision of speech-language pathology in South Shore Schools including:
o    Supporting the implementation of Guidelines for the Provision of Speech-Language Pathology Services, and the South Shore Regional Centre for Education Special Education Policy.
o    Collaborating with schools, regions and, where appropriate, community service providers in the delivery of programming and services for children and youth.
o    Working with regional personnel to support program planning teams’ link assessment and instructional practice.
•    Provides training in relation to the role speech-language pathology contributes to student programming as required.
•    Recommends to the Coordinator of Student Development Elementary Level, courses of action in regards to speech-language pathology and related programming and services.
•    Prepares correspondence, reports and research studies, and carry out consultations.
•    Represents the South Shore Regional Centre for Education and committees, interdepartmental initiatives, working groups and associations, where requested.
•    Reviews, researches and compiles reports and prepare correspondence for the Region as required.
•    Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
•    Performs other related duties as required.
