Qualifications:
- Journeyman’s certificate in plumbing trade
- Pump Installer’s course and Wastewater Treatment Plant course would be considered assets
- Certified water specialist (operator in training OIT, class 1 NT)
- Completion of WHMIS and first aid training
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Task Dimensions:
Completes plumbing and related school repairs, for example:
- Servicing pumps, treatment plants, water conditioners and filters, thermostats, toilets, sinks, vents roof drains, ventilators, time clocks, and other controls.
Investigates and repairs leaks, heating line problems, or other abnormalities as may occur in mechanical systems.
Advises Team Leader on plumbing issues, for example:
- Evaluating repairs or improvement.
- Reporting misuse, inadequate capacity, deterioration or malfunction of mechanical devices.
- Identifying materials, tools and equipment, and work routines needed to work efficiently.
Responds to after-hours facility emergencies as required.
Works cooperatively and assists other trades and maintenance staff as the job requires.
Ensures job related tools and equipment are well maintained, for example:
- Cleaning and returning tools after using them.
- Lubricating and adjusting shop equipment as required to keep it in good working order.
- Maintaining a neat and orderly supply of materials in the service vehicle.
Completes work order forms and other repair records, for example:
- Recording time and material used on each assignment.
- Maintaining vehicle metrage log.
- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
