The Strait Regional Centre for Education is entrusted, under The Education Act of Nova Scotia, to deliver the public school program to approximately 6,200 students in 20 schools throughout the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond.   The Strait Regional Centre for Education, with the support of approximately 970 staff members, works diligently to influence its vision of excellence in lifelong learning.  Located in the northeastern part of Nova Scotia, the Centre's jurisdiction encompasses an area of approximately 11,000 square kilometers with a population of 54,972.

The Strait Regional Centre for Education invites applications from qualified candidates for the posted vacancy. 

40 hours per week

Apprentice Body Repair

 

ROLE:   Performs work up to and including journey level trades in auto body repairs on all school buses and other fleet vehicles.  
Responsibilities:  

Currently enrolled in autobody repair apprenticeship program;
Perform all body work (e,g. - metal, fiberglass, plastics etc.) and painting of buses and fleet vehicles as required in accordance with established standards, the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and Strait Regional Centre for Education Policies and Procedures;  
Complete all assigned work orders in an accurate manner, and record time and materials used;  
Keep work area clean and safe;  
Maintain the safe operation of all equipment used in the bus garage and safe storage of all supplies;  
Other related duties as assigned.
