Rate of pay: As per the CUPE Collective Agreement ($24.68)

 (8 hours per day)

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.

 

 

 

Under the supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, the successful candidate for this position will be required to perform a wide variety of janitorial and minor maintenance tasks. 

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • The successful candidate must be physically able to perform duties.
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to apply modern cleaning methods and practices
  • Have a thorough knowledge of building systems
  • Be able to recognize safety hazards throughout the premises, and possess the knowledge and skills to perform the duties above.

 Responsibilities:

  • Inspection of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Inspection of playground equipment and sports facilities.
  • Maintain safety equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Perform janitorial duties as required (indoors and outdoors).
  • Order and monitor proper use of custodial supplies.
  • Perform minor repairs as required including but not limited to window replacement, screens, desks, lockers, mechanical and electrical.
  • Arrange physical/facility requirements for school events, rentals, etc.
  • To identify and report major maintenance requirements.
