Salary $54,259-$67,824 annually (pro-rated for term of employment and depending on qualifications and experience)

The Information Technology Technician will report to and work under the direction of the Supervisor of Information Technology. The Information Technology Technician’s responsibilities will include:
- Support school-based technical systems.
- Install and configure all hardware, software and peripherals to Centre and industry standards.
- Install software upgrades including operating systems and applications.
- Identify and repair hardware, software and network problems.
- Test technical equipment and evaluate against Centre and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively and support school staff concerning operation, network access and technical difficulties.
- Operate independently or as part of a team to solve technical problems.
- Maintain a current knowledge of industry and educational standards.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Technology Training and Support program from a university, community college or other recognized institution (or equivalent) is required.
- An in-depth understanding of both hardware and software; the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain various types of computer systems is required.
- A valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License is required.
- Experience in the installation and troubleshooting of operating systems such as Windows, ChromeOS, iOS is required.
- Experience in performing hardware repairs of end user devices, Chromebooks preferred.
- A working knowledge of network systems (ethernet, wireless, Windows) is required.
- Experience in the installation and troubleshooting of projectors, Smartboards, and audio systems will be considered an asset.
- Previous experience providing technical support will be considered an asset, educational setting preferred.
- Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, etc. beneficial.
