Tradesperson: Carpenter 

Kentville Operations Centre

Vacant position effective immediately

Rate of pay: As per CUPE Collective Agreement ($26.01)

Closing date for applications: October 22, 2019


Reporting to the Property Services Supervisor. Carpenter will be responsible for carpentry work within the regions and may be required to assist in after-hours emergencies.

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Journeyman Certificate in carpentry or Registered Apprentice in carpentry.
  • High school diploma.
  • Three years’ experience in trade.
  • Demonstrate good written communication and organizational skills.
  • Broad knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and own vehicle.
  • Own tools.
  • Knowledge of repairing and/or replacing building components, such as, windows, doors, cabinetry, hardware, roofs, flooring, ceiling systems, and partitions.
  • Experience in related trades would be an asset.


The successful applicant will be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check and complete a Child Abuse Registry.
