AVRCE - Apprentice Tradesperson, Electrician (Spare)

Reporting to the Property Services Supervisor Electrical, the successful applicant will be a self-motivated individual with:
- Must have completed the electrician course from NSCC or equivalent and plan to continue towards a Certificate of Qualifications in the Electrical Construction trade issued under the authority of the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualification Act of Nova Scotia;
- High School Diploma:
- Demonstrate good written communication and organizational skills, required;
- Broad knowledge of safety procedures and practices, required;
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License, required;
- Own hand tools, required;
- Knowledge of repairing and/or replacing electrical building components, such as power, lighting, fire alarm systems, public address systems emergency lighting, data wiring, building controls and refrigeration components, such as compressors, required
- Computer skills and related demonstrated experience in the use of building management systems preferred.

Qualified applicants from within the CUPE Bargaining Unit Local 3876 will be considered first. Should there be no qualified candidate from within the Bargaining Unit, new applicants will be considered.
