The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) encompasses the three (3) Counties of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby serving approximately 6100 students in twenty-two (22) schools, composed of 13 Elementary Schools, 6 High Schools, 1 Middle School, and 2 Elementary/High Schools.

Title:                Garage Labourer (General Labourer) -   Maintenance Labourer - Digby Bus Garage 

 

Responsible to:     Coordinator of Transportation

 

Role:                      Perform light Maintenance to TCRCED Fleet and Property.

Qualifications

 

  • Experience in Vehicle maintenance
  • Completion of WHMIS and First aid
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with mechanical staff
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Clean drivers abstract

 

Responsibilities:

- Provide labour, assist with maintenance of school busses in compliance with established practices and standards;

 

- Maintain accurate records of work performance through use of approved work order system;

 

- Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment in compliance with established practices and standards;

 

- Travel from site to site as required; valid Class 5 drivers license

 

- Perform duties in compliance with school, Operations Department and Board policies and procedures, including occupational health safety, work routines, WHMIS and evacuation plans and the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia;

  •   As scheduled, clean and prepare busses for undercoating;
  •  Apply supplied undercoating as instructed uniformly to scheduled bus;
  •  Remove overspray from bus exterior glass/windows;

 

- Maintains supplied equipment and ensures in good working order;

 

- Maintains clean work site, free of debris;

 

- Other related duties as assigned.
