The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) encompasses the three (3) Counties of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby serving approximately 6100 students in twenty-two (22) schools, composed of 13 Elementary Schools, 6 High Schools, 1 Middle School, and 2 Elementary/High Schools.

Location:  Student Services - Tri-County Regional Centre for Education 

 

We are part of the collaborative professional team with Student Services consisting of, School Psychologists, Speech Language Pathologists, SchoolsPlus Staff, Student Services Consultants/Autism Support Teachers and SLD Teachers and Enhanced programming Teachers. Responsibilities include collaborative consultation with school based teams, informal and formal assessment, development of program plans to increase student success for those experiencing both academic and behavior challenges and counseling. Furthermore, the School Psychologist works closely with teachers, Teacher Assistants, Administrative Staff, other professionals and parents.

 

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Master Degree in School Psychology
  • Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Psychological Board of Examiners.
  • Meet requirements for Candidate Register
  • Experience administering, interpreting and communicating the results of psycho-educational assessments.
  • Experience delivering a variety of professional development sessions.
  • Experience in counseling.
  • Experience providing behavioral consultations and providing recommendations.  
  • Proven ability to communicate and work alongside diverse cultural and racial backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to value the voice and contribution of others while remaining open to corrective criticism.
  • Completion of WHMIS and First Aid, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
