Assignment:
- Ferry Monitor for student - approximately 3 to 6 hours per day, depending upon if the monitor lives in Chester or on Tancook Island
- Wages depending upon qualifications
Qualifications / Experience:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- First Aid Training
- Experience working with children / youth
Characteristics:

Tancook Ferry
8:00am Ferry leaves Tancook
9:00am Ferry arrives in Chester. Student will board the school bus.
3:40pm Ferry leaves Chester. Student will arrive at the dock on the school bus.
4:30pm Ferry arrives on Tancook
Paid travel time: 2 hours

9:00am Ferry arrives in Chester. Student will board the school bus.
3:40pm Ferry leaves Chester. Student will arrive at the dock on the school bus.
4:30pm Ferry arrives on Tancook
5:30pm Ferry arrives back in Chester
Paid travel time: 6 hours
- Bus assistants will travel on designated and provides assistance in student management, basic first aid and evacuations.
- The successful incumbent will be trained in emergency evacuation, student behavior management and first aid.
BACKGROUND/SECURITY CHECKS:
The South Shore Regional Centre for Education requires all newly hired employees to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check and a Nova Scotia Child Abuse Register Check. We will accept checks completed within the last 3 months.
Regional Office based positions require travel and candidates may be required to provide a valid driver's license. Some school based positions also require travel and candidates may be required to provide a valid driver's license.
