The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within the boundaries of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Hold a valid Nova Scotia Teaching Certificate, or will hold one by September 1, 2026

  • Excellent Classroom Management Skills 

  • Endorsation and methodology courses in the appropriate Subject area and level 

  • Endorsation in Music preferred. 

  • Classroom music teachers should hold a degree or diploma in music/music education.  A solid understanding of music pedagogy with a background in music methodology courses is required.  Orff and/or Kodaly certification or training is also recommended. 

  • Knowledge and/or experience in inclusive teaching and assessment practices.

  • Travel between schools will be required.
