Hours of work: as needed basis

Education Entities Non-Union Compensation Framework, Band 2

Salary $40,877-$51,097 annually (pro-rated for term of employment and depending on qualifications and experience)

Reporting to the Coordinator of Financial Services, the casual Finance Assistant’s role is focused on the Accounts Payable function and supporting Pre-Primary Program. The casual Finance Assistant will have proven communication, collaborative and organizational abilities. The position requires confidentiality and excellent interpersonal skills. The applicant must be able to work independently and accurately while on a flexible schedule. 

 

 Specifically, this position has the following preferred requirements:

  • One year secretarial/clerical training at a Community College or equivalent is required. 
  • Formal accounting training at a Community College or equivalent is required.
  • Accounting experience and/or training using a computer accounting package would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders of the organization.
  • A working knowledge of computers with experience using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet including e-mail, and SAP.
  • Ability to organize and maintain electronic filing systems.
  • Accurate typing and proofreading skills.
  • Familiarity with office procedures and equipment.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone answering skills.
  • Ability to work amicably with a large number of people.
