Head Cafeteria Worker Aldershot Elementary School Vacant Position: 7 hours per day Effective immediately Rate of Pay: As per Collective Agreement ($22.66) Closing date for applications: Midnight, January 13, 2026 Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876. |
Qualifications and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and a willingness to build healthy menus and snacks on sound nutritional principles.
- Experience working in a school at the p to 8 level is preferable.
- Previous experience in a school cafeteria will be an asset.
- An educational background in the nutritional studies would be and asset
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the cafeteria under the supervision of the school principal.
- Current Food Handlers certificate.
- Experience in the area of food preparation, presentation, and service to students and staff.
- A willingness to consult and collaborate regarding cafeteria business plan, weekly menu and pricing.
- Ordering food items and relevant supplies.
- Keeping an inventory on a frequent basis, of all foods and supplies.
- Daily deposits.
- Cash reconciliation and sales reports.
- Preparation and serving of food, kitchen duties as required in co-ordination with the cafeteria team (stocking, cleaning, dishes, etc.)
- A willingness to be engaged in the school recycling program.
- An interest in working in a school environment.
