CBVRCE - NSTU ALTERNATE SUBSTITUTE TEACHER - (NO B.ED.) SITES NORTH OF SMOKEY ONLY

The Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre for Education is seeking ALTERNATIVE SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS for schools in our North of Smokey Region.  These schools include North Highlands Elementary, Cape Smokey Elementary, and Cabot Education Centre.

A candidate for an Alternate Substitute Teacher may not currently possess a valid teacher certification for the Province of Nova Scotia but does have a Bachelor or Undergraduate Degree.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, English, French, Business, Arts or related field.

  • Qualify for a Permit to Teach from the Nova Scotia Office of Teacher Certification

  • Experience working with children is an asset.                                                                                                                                                                              

Interested applicants must attach a résumé with a concise covering letter highlighting relevant qualifications and experience as well as the names of at least three (3) relevant professional references.  The process of reviewing your application may be accelerated if you upload copies of Degrees, transcripts of post-secondary education, as well as written references.  All applicants will be required to submit a Child abuse registry and Criminal Record Check-Vulnerable sector prior to employment with CBVRCE.   **It is suggested to mail the form for your Child Abuse Register check ASAP**.  Complete the Child Abuse Registry Search Form A and send it to the address listed on the bottom left corner.  (Please note that the form must be filled out and signed with blue ink.)  You will need to attach a photocopy of your driver's license or health card when sending off the form to the Department of Community Services.  You will receive a letter from the Department of Community Services stating that your name does not appear on the register.   If you are offered a position, we will require a copy of the letter before the hiring process is complete.
